I’ve heard a lot about professional book reviews like Kirkus and Publisher’s Weekly and initially I’d always thought they were free. That the reviewer heard of the book and decided to review it. Then I learned that these are actually paid. So I assume that in trad publishing the publisher pays for these reviews but as an indie author it’s all on you.
I have heard a few people talk about Kirkus with mixed results so I decided to try BookLife. for one reason, they are the indie arm of Publishers’ Weekly so to me that was a plus. Second, I am a member of IBPA which meant I could get a discount on the review. So I took the plunge.
The review took about a month but I got it back today and now I’m going to share it with you. This is the link so go over there and tell me what you think.

I am told that it will be published in the BookLife section of Publisher’s Weekly in June so look out for it. And if you’re interested in doing this give it a go!
