Man! I cannot believe I did it. I am only 2K away from finishing NanoWriMo. I hope to get those 2,000 words written by turkey day and then the real work begins.
As you have heard me say before, the first draft is NEVER the finished product. Once I put those last words into Scrivener, it will be time to follow my revision plan. That plan includes incorporating knowledge from the courses I took last spring in editing.
First, I am going to go back into the EDITS system files I got from Margie Lawson, and prepare my manuscript for revision. After that, I am going to put into practice the lessons I took from Jill Corcoran and Martha Anderson in their PlotWriMo course.
Next, I am going to present it to my SCBWI critique group so they can tear it apart. And then I am going to send it off to to the teen readers I met at PCCWriter’s Workshop.
And finally, I will take all that feedback, make changes and then send that puppy out to a Twitter contest (like PitMad or Author Mentor Match) to see if the fish bite!
